Refurbishing process

Product Refurbishment and Grading Guide

Refurbishment Overview: Every refurbished product in our inventory undergoes a meticulous process supervised by skilled refurbishment specialists. We're committed to ensuring that our customers receive only top-quality items. If any refurbished product doesn't meet our standards, we offer a replacement warranty.

Refurbished Product Grading:

  • Grade A: These devices are in near-pristine condition, showing minimal signs of prior use. You might notice slight scuffing on the casing, but overall, they appear almost new.

  • Grade B: These are quality devices with light cosmetic imperfections. They're fully functional, and their minor blemishes make them more affordable than Grade A items.

  • Grade C: These devices are functional but show clear signs of significant use. They have noticeable cosmetic issues but are ideal for those on a tight budget.

Refurbishment Process Explained:

Refurbishing electronics involves restoring them for resale in the market after thorough testing and repairs. Essentially, a refurbished device is a rejuvenated gadget sold at a reduced price.

Sources of Refurbished Electronics:

Asset Recovery: Refurbishers collaborate with major IT firms to liquidate, resell, or redeploy assets, gaining potential ROI.

Retailers: Some new products arrive at retailers with defects or damages. These are sent back to the manufacturer for repair and then resold.

Individuals: Consumers might return products due to obsolescence, upgrades, or dissatisfaction.

IT Recycling Plants: These plants separate usable components from electronics, which refurbishers then use for repairs.

Refurbishment Steps:

Sanitisation: Initial cleaning involves removing stickers and dust, both externally and internally.

Triage: Products are physically tested and graded based on functionality.

Data Wipe: All existing data is securely erased from devices, ensuring privacy.

Repair/Replacement: Necessary repairs are made, and non-functional parts are replaced.

Testing: Every aspect of the device, from software to hardware, undergoes rigorous testing.

Cosmetic Enhancement: Any cosmetic imperfections, such as scratches or dents, are addressed.

Software Installation: Relevant software and drivers are installed or updated.

Off-lease Equipment:  All Australian ex-lease equipment comes with original parts after sanitisation and wiping of data in accordance with Australian Government regulations. All ex-lease products come with original parts, unlike refurbished ones after careful inspection and grading

By adhering to this process, we ensure that our refurbished products offer both quality and value to our customers.
